QuantiSheet Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 30, 2026
Publisher: Jon Dougherty (individual developer)
Applies to: the QuantiSheet app from the Microsoft Store (Store ID 9MZM8WD6CS7W)

The short version

1. What the developer collects

Nothing. QuantiSheet has no telemetry, no usage analytics and no crash-report upload. It does not check for updates on its own; updates come through the Microsoft Store. You do not need an account to use it. The developer does not run any servers for the app, so no data about you or your projects is sent to the developer. Because the developer receives no data, there is nothing to sell or share.

If something goes wrong, QuantiSheet saves a crash report on your PC only, with email addresses removed. The app can also build a support file that you may choose to send to someone yourself. Before it does, it removes email addresses, saved secrets, your Windows user name and network paths. Nothing is sent unless you send it.

The Microsoft Store handles downloads and updates under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

2. Where your data is kept

Everything you create stays on your PC (or wherever you save your files). QuantiSheet keeps data in these places:

Your IT department may also place a settings policy on the PC. QuantiSheet only reads it.

3. Features that go online, and what they send

These features run only when you start them. Each one talks directly to the service named, not to the developer. Those services have their own privacy policies.

Weather

When you ask for job-site weather (for example, from the Daily Log), QuantiSheet sends the town or address you typed to Open-Meteo to find its location, then sends the latitude, longitude and dates to get the forecast or past weather. When you create a new Owner Report for a project that has a location set, the report fills in recent weather and a 10-day forecast automatically, using the same service. If you add your own Open-Meteo API key, the key is sent too. Open-Meteo privacy policy

Aerial photos, address lookup and site maps

When you look up an address or load aerial imagery or site layers, QuantiSheet sends the address you typed to the U.S. Census Bureau's address lookup, and sends the map area's coordinates to U.S. government map services: the U.S. Geological Survey (aerial imagery and base maps), FEMA (flood maps) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (wetlands). Map images are cached in your QuantiSheet folder. Privacy policies: U.S. Census Bureau, USGS, FEMA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Labor rates and price indexes

When you look up labor-rate or price-index data, QuantiSheet asks the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) for the data series and years you chose. If you add your own BLS registration key, the key is sent too. BLS privacy policy

Dropbox

Dropbox is off until you (or your IT department) enter your own Dropbox app key and sign in. Then QuantiSheet sends and receives the files you open from or save to Dropbox, and files in any inbox folder you choose to sync. Sign-in happens with Dropbox directly. Dropbox privacy policy

DocuSign

If you connect your own DocuSign account, QuantiSheet sends the documents you choose to send for signature, along with the signers' names and email addresses, to DocuSign. DocuSign privacy notice

Email

When you send something by email (such as an RFI or transmittal), QuantiSheet hands the message to your own Outlook, or, if you don't have Outlook, opens it in your default mail program. QuantiSheet has no mail server of its own. By default you review each email before it is sent.

Collaboration

Collaboration is off until you connect. It works through a relay server that you or your IT department set up; there is no QuantiSheet-hosted server. By default the relay runs on your own PC, and sharing it with other computers on your network is a separate opt-in. When connected, QuantiSheet sends markup changes, PDF snapshots, cursor positions, project files and versions, e-signature requests (page images, signer fields and the audit trail) and punch items with photos to that relay.

Help links

Some help links open web pages in your browser. That is your browser visiting the page, not the app sending your data.

An IT administrator can turn off the weather, map, labor-rate, Dropbox and DocuSign features with a Windows policy.

4. AI features

Some features can show AI-written text, such as document summaries, suggested redlines, spec-check notes, markup translations, RFI wording, scope summaries, Owner Report drafts and schedule recovery suggestions. These features are optional. No AI model comes with QuantiSheet; they work only if you install Ollama and a model yourself.

5. Microphone

QuantiSheet uses the microphone only if you turn on voice commands. Speech is recognized by Windows' offline speech engine on your PC, so your voice is not sent anywhere by QuantiSheet.

6. Photo location data

When QuantiSheet re-encodes a photo, it removes the EXIF location (GPS) data from the photo it saves.

7. Deleting your data

There is no "delete my data" command in the app. Because your data is on your PC, you control it:

Data you sent to Dropbox, DocuSign or another service is kept under that service's own policy.

8. Children

QuantiSheet is a business tool for construction work. It is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
